Narrative Photography: Justice
Social injustice exists everywhere in the world. For decades photographers have used the camera to document and raise awareness of the injustices occurring around us each day, including those we may not see.
For this assignment, students will be creating imagery which brings to light social injustice on the topic of human trafficking. The best images will be chosen for display in a gallery show in January for the Justice Matters Conference. Works will be featured in press releases, printed material and will have the opportunity to be presented at other venues. If a project is chosen for the exhibit, the student will also learn how to set up a show, be featured on the VIP invite and be featured online as well as in the opening reception. GREAT OPPORTUNITY!!! Student work will also be shown at various shows and has the opportunity to be published. Photographs may be reproduced for sale. The show will be hung the week of January 9th, before we return to school. Participating students will need to be present to help set up their show.
