Objective:
The students will be able to create values using lines and texture in drawing.

Classwork:
-Value scales, egg, copy black and white texture image in sketchbook
-Line, Value & Texture Lesson and Quiz
-HW: Choose 4 possible images for grid assignment
-Grid assignment: Student will need to bring in three high quality black and white prints of photos at least 5” x 5” or larger. The three images need to include: one animal with texture (fur, feathers, pattern) One texture (wood, brick, tree bark, basket, etc..) and one other object. Students will be making a collage using the three images in class. Once your collage is made, students will divide it into a ½” grid. You will then make a ¾” grid on a larger piece of drawing paper (very lightly with pencil) with the same dimensions as the collage. Students will then transfer each square onto their drawing paper. Once the image is sketched in, students will shade the image using hatching, cross-hatching and/or stippling with black sharpies or pen. Once finished, all pencil must be erased.
